Back after a quick trip to Tadoba National Park.

For a change, I flew down to Nagpur, instead of driving to Tadoba from Bangalore, a 14 hour/ 1200 km drive. Saw a different side of the forest this time because of unexpected rain. Afternoons were wet, and mornings were misty. Reminded me of North Indian forests during winter. Because of the weather, tiger sightings were less, and we missed the cubs. But the moody atmosphere allowed me to get a few interesting shots.

Encountered two male tigers. Not a single tigress. No Sonam, no Madhuri. And not even my old heartthrob Maya, though I waited and pined for her (well, for her cubs). Must be losing my charm 🙂

Overall, it was a great trip, but I came back feeling a little unsatiated (those cubs!). Will be back again.

Sharing a few photos. A full fledged travelogue might follow. The Nikon D850 performed well, as expected. I wouldn’t choose it over any other camera. Ticks almost all the boxes for me. No camera body is perfect, but this is the closest, given my style and preferences.

Tiger near Telia Lake. Sunset time. Challenging shot because of the dynamic range and the long lens I was carrying.

Tigerscape during sunset. Bajrang (a huge tiger), Telia Lake. Challenging shot because of the dynamic range and wrong/long lens.
